FaithWORKS RISING ARTIST PROGRAM:
THE PROGRAM:
The Rising Artists is FaithWORKS Performing Arts’ Arts Immersion program for emerging artists onstage and off. This intensive experience is designed to support artistic excellence, personal growth, and technical development through hands-on training in both performance and production.
Students receive focused instruction in acting, singing, movement, and theatrical technique, while also learning how a production comes together behind the scenes. Through rehearsals, workshops, and collaborative ensemble work, students grow in confidence, discipline, communication, and creative problem-solving.
Rising Artists is a competitive, growth-focused experience where students are challenged to stretch beyond their comfort zones in a supportive, professional environment. Participants work together to bring a full-scale theatrical production to life, applying their training in a real-world performance setting.
This program is designed to care for the whole student—developing not only strong performers, but responsible collaborators, thoughtful artists, and confident young people prepared for future opportunities onstage, backstage, and beyond.
THE EDUCATION:
We are excited to offer the following classes and learning experiences as part of the FaithWORKS Rising Artists Program. These components are designed to support artistic growth, build practical skills, and provide students with hands-on training both on stage and behind the scenes.
Classes may include:
· Behind-the-Scenes Theatre Basics: An introduction to how a show comes together, including set, sound, lighting, costumes, and props.
· Performance Foundations: Introductory acting skills, musical theatre dance basics, and healthy singing habits designed for growing voices.
· Music Basics: Learning how to read simple music and understand rhythm and melody.
· College & Future Pathways: Conversations with former Rising Artists about what it’s like to continue arts in high school, college, and beyond.
· Meet the Pros: Age-appropriate conversations with working theatre artists and creative professionals about their careers and experiences.
· Leadership & Personal Growth: Activities that build confidence, teamwork, communication, and responsibility—onstage and off.
· Well-Being & Balance: Workshops with mental health professionals focused on self-care, confidence, and managing stress in creative spaces.
CREATING THE FUTURE OF THE ARTS:
At FaithWORKS Performing Arts, our mission has always been to serve students who have historically had limited access to high-quality arts training. From the beginning, we stepped into a real need within our community—creating opportunities, access, and experiences where few existed. As FaithWORKS has grown, we are proud to have helped meet that need alongside other respected arts organizations, and we remain committed to continuing and expanding that legacy.
FaithWORKS welcomes all students, from all walks of life, backgrounds, and skill levels. You do not need prior arts experience to participate, and our programs are open to everyone who is eager to learn, grow, and be part of a creative community. Our commitment is rooted in equity, access, and excellence, and we believe the arts are strongest when everyone has a seat at the table.
TIME COMMITMENT:
The FaithWORKS Rising Artists Program is a 5–6 day-a-week commitment, with Fridays off. Students are expected to be actively engaged in rehearsals & classes throughout the process. Because this is a condensed 6–8 week immersive experience, consistent participation is important; however, school and academics always come first.
Students are fully excused from rehearsals & classes for all school-related commitments, including classes, academic responsibilities, concerts, ceremonies, rehearsals, practices, performances, and other required school activities. Academic success and school obligations are a priority and will always be respected.
A detailed rehearsal & class schedule will be provided well in advance so families can plan accordingly. Rehearsals & classes generally take place Sundays from 2:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday from 6:00–8:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, as needed.
All known conflicts will be collected during the audition process. Please note that casting and placement are influenced by availability, as our goal is to build an ensemble that can participate fully in both rehearsals & classes and grow together throughout the experience.
TUITION & PROGRAM SUPPORT:
The FaithWORKS Rising Artists Program is offered at no cost to participating students. All expenses are fully covered, including classes, rehearsal materials, performance costs, costume fees, and a program t-shirt. We understand that every family’s financial situation is different, and we believe that financial circumstances should never prevent a student from participating.
For families who are able and wish to support the program, we suggest a $350 voluntary donation to help sustain the Rising Artists Program and make participation possible for all students. Contributions are always optional, deeply appreciated, and never expected or required. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward student training and production expenses.
TRANSPORTATION:
Transportation should never stand in the way of a student’s ability to participate. Once a student is cast, we will check in with families about any transportation needs. If getting to rehearsals or classes is a challenge, please let us know, and we will do our best to help coordinate carpools or shared transportation options so every student has the opportunity to fully participate in the Rising Artists Program.

BEHIND THE SCENES
Students participating in the technical and production portion of the Rising Artists Program will work alongside the rehearsal process, helping to prepare and support the technical elements of the production.
Students will be introduced to and trained in multiple areas of production, including various behind-the-scenes roles, before staff determines final placement for the production run. Assignments will be based on each student’s strengths, interests, and what best serves the overall production.
An in-person interest meeting will take place in late February, during which students will receive more information and select students will be invited to apply and accepted into the technical program.
Please make sure to complete the audition/interest form and indicate your interest so we can follow up with next steps and additional details.
