Mean to Be Free is the story of two children and two adults traveling north to freedom on the dangerous Underground Railroad with Harriet Tubman. Framed by events that happened well over 150 years ago, its significance now is greater than ever—dramatizing a people's struggle to stand with dignity. Based on historical accounts, this production highlights the courageous actions of Americans both black and white!
